Wolfing down those free samples?

August 18, 2010

Blog Guy, I’m going out to lunch. Wanna come along?

Thanks, I ate already. Spicy Peanut Chicken Kebabs with Satay Sauce, and Blue Cheese with Roasted Pecan Dip, over at Trader Joe’s.

GERMANY/

Yummmmm! That sounds great! Trader’s has a restaurant now?

Nah, you know, they put out those itty-bitty paper cups with free samples for shoppers to try.

One tiny cup wouldn’t fill you up.

BASEBALL/I went back for more.

You can have seconds? I never knew that!

Sure. They don’t try to cut you off until the 17th time, and they don’t call security until a couple more visits after that.

So by then you’re full, huh?

No, then I switch to my disguises in the restroom. A wolf head, big nose and mustache,  sombrero, wax teeth, stuff like that.

Sometimes I use a limp, or put a cast on my leg, or speak only Estonian…

I can’t believe this. Just for a few free snacks you go to a men’s room to get into disguises?

Of course not. I use the women’s. The mirror is much better for putting on my theatrical make-up.

No wonder I haven’t been able to find my lost dog. He’s been in disguise!

Wait! You mean didn’t stop by Dave’s Seafood and Goat-Cave Emporium and try the ‘mystery meat’ kebabs?

So, to get seconds on the high-fiber snacks, all you need is Lederhosen or dress in drag, but to get the good stuff like satay you need a wolf getup? Is there a level or ranking system in play here or should I just hope that my juggalo outfit will work?

He made that much effort for a real wolf head but left his glasses on? And there I thought European LARP was proper hardcore. Disappointing.

Ahh, cheap in wolf’s clothing!

Trader Joe’s has wonderful inexpensive wine! You need to sample that with your lunch:)

What bathroom does the dog use to change his disguises? The tree or the fire hydrant?

Oh the Mets. Even their canine fans don’t really want to admit they are fans.
