Oddly Enough Blog
News, but not the serious kind
Are you back again? Most popular posts for 2010
My above average readers have made this the second most popular Reuters blog for 2010, measured in both visits and page views, which is great news for me.
Of course, it’s better news for the smart guy who writes the number one blog, but still…
My theory is that my audience is so loyal because it’s a lot easier to go back to the same bookmark than it is to search for something better to read, but whatever the reason, I’m very grateful.
As the year draws to a close, here’s your chance to see which items you, the hypnotized readers, liked most.
The only common thread I can find is that three of the most popular items, including numbers one and two, were Top Ten lists, which readers always seem to like.
Keeping that in mind, here are the eight most popular blog items for 2010.
That’s right, I said eight. Sure, I could have done another top ten list, but that would be pandering.
8. Finally, the real secret of “You’re So Vain”
7. The mother of all wardrobe malfunctions?
6.Ten things I learned in the blizzard
5. Gosh, isn’t this a pretty dumb thing to do?
4. Insert zany cartoon sound here
3. Are you smarter than your turkey?
2. Ten jobs you’ll avoid if you’re smart
And now, this blog’s number one most popular post for the year…
1. Ten stupid things you shouldn’t do with cameras around
Please keep coming back, and bring your friends…

BG,
Looking forward to more zaniness in 2011. Congratulations on your popularity, maybe you can get one more follower and make it to #1 next year.
Dang, I was hoping “Big contest! Waste your time, win nothing!” would make the list.
ooo!! I heard a very drunken redention of “You’re so vain” just yesterday… Kate Hudson is a very tuneless singer… or maybe that was she acting….

“… you, the hypnotised readers”. Explains why I feel sleepy, so very sleepy.
So anyway, who do we have to target next year, so OE can be number one?
I hear Julian Assange may be looking for a new gig.
Thanks for giving us a years worth of reasons to grin, BG!
Second place is actually a good thing – If this blog came in first, it would be considered mainstream, and that would really confuse folks!
Well, congrats, BG. Well deserved. You are, you know, our “man with the blue guitar.”
