Oddly Enough Blog
News, but not the serious kind
You must be the new town crier?

Blog Guy, like many readers I rely on you for all my political news. So have the Republicans taken over control of the House yet following their victory in November?
Yes, finally, but only after petulant attempts by Democrats to delay the process.
Really? How could the Democrats possibly do that? They lost the election.
By making incoming House Speaker John Boehner too emotional to repeat the oath of office.
During the handover, outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi dimmed the lights and showed selected movie clips fromĀ “Forrest Gump,” “Saving Private Ryan” and “Life is Beautiful.”
Naturally, Boehner convulsed into a sobbing heap.
Wow! But what happened when those clips were over?
Then Pelosi unleashed the big guns. Scenes from “Toy Story 3″ and “My Dog Skip.”
Holy crap! Boehner is a weeper, everybody knows that! Did he have anything to fight back with?
Yes. As luck would have it, just before Pelosi got to “Old Yeller,” Boehner noticed through his tears that he seemed to be holding a huge honking croquet mallet….

Woooooooooooooooowwww!!!
A politician getting emotional when his rival is leaving??
Is this guy for real???
I think not…
What a loooad of tosh!!!
If he changed his first name to Lance, he would have an awesome porn-star name.
@Nosmo, thanks my friend for giving me a good laugh as I set up for my work day.
If I were on a mission to save Private Ryan and learned it was Matt Damon I was trying to save I do believe I would have to pack it up and swim the lake home. I mean really, Matt Damon turns out to be a leathal international assasin/human weapon of mass destruction. Why risk my fragile bummy bum bum for someone who could do well enough on his own?
@Shra: Pelosi isn’t leaving, she just won’t be Madame Speaker any longer.
As for the gavel … I think someone is compensating.
This blog tears me up every time. I’ll leave it to each of you to interpret the word tear.
justCAM, I ran into a friend once who had just finished reading this Blog. She had tears in her dress and tears in her eyes.
Well, there goes any chance he had of further office. I can see these shots being trotted out by all opponents of his right down to the dog catcher in his home town…
Hey, I shed a tear watching the Republicans take over, too…
He can weep blood so far as I’m concerned so long as he gets the job done.
And that, Spin, would explain why her dress was so soggy! For some reason, I often mistype Spin as “Sin.” Hmmm….
Of course he is crying; he realizes that he now has to actually do something and produce results instead of popping off at the mouth all the time.
We’re crying with ya-so happy to have Nancy in the background now!
For years liberals wanted Republicans to be “more sensitive.”
And, as usual, now that they get what they wanted they asked for, they have to start ranting against it…
