I’m with CAM, I believe the silver tubes can be dropped into the port-a-johns for relief. I don’t really want to think about how they are connected at the receiving end.

It does appear that a couple of those men are sitting on top of the porta-johns. Makes me wonder if perhaps there are holes in the tops of the johns and trapdoors in their suits!
