Smurf City, here we come!
Blog Guy, can you please help settle a bet with my haberdasher’s manicurist?
Again with the bets and the random occupations? What’s this one about?
She says there’s a whole town somewhere that has been turned into a Smurf village – you know, the little blue cartoon characters – and I say she’s totally nuts.
Actually, she’s absolutely right. Sony chose a little village in southern Spain for the world premiere of their new movie, “The Smurfs 3D,” and they painted the whole shebang blue.
Painted the whole shebang, huh? Is that all they did?
That isn’t quite clear. I’ve heard reports of Sony thugs going around and forcibly painting the villagers blue, as well,
It seems the locals also have to travel around on their knees so they will appear more Smurf-like, talk in squeaky voices and adopt humiliating names that play on their weaknesses.
You mean like Greedy Smurf and Lazy Smurf?
Yes, and Wino Smurf, Incontinent Smurf, Facial Warts Smurf, Floozy Smurf, and so on.
Wow! That’s horrible! Anything else?
Well, you know how cartoon characters only have three fingers and a thumb? There are some very disturbing rumors about how that’s being handled…

Thanks Spin, I figured you’d catch that…
Hey look, it’s CrowGirl! Second Smurf from the left there!
Has Sony signed up Sarah Palin to play “Talk to the hand Smurf”?
Smurfieeeeees!
Mr.Pilot, are you sure that’s CG? I think its Cam’s sister…
@Shra, I think that’s Cam’s sister sitting next to CG!
Manicurist? Where I come from, it’s simple. Dirt and grease under the fingernails is a social no-no, as they tend to detract from a woman’s jewelry and alter the taste of finger foods.
@Shra & ifly … Sis was feeling kinda blue that day so, she decided to stay home.
I wonder when smurfs grow up, do they join the Blue Man Group?
I wonder, is there a Blue Woman Group?
I wonder, is BG a smurf?
My mind wanders.
Oh, I’m sorry, I thought that WAS the England cricket team.
My mistake.
If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn?
I’m outraged. I’ve never worn that much make up in my life.
My parole officer’s bookie sent this one:

You know we’re goin’ to Smurf City, doughnuts for all!
Two dozen shoes for every girl!
thanks, Spin! ‘Surf City’ is actually a Jan & Dean song (I thought it was the Beach Boys too).
and Shra, before you zap me for that little factoid, notice the shameless pandering to you in the last line 😉 If you still must zap, I will accept my punishment.
Lol!! Will let ya go this time, Georgia..
should let you know though, you just used your once-in-a-lifetime-zapper-pass.
I loved Smurfette when I was young…but who didn’t? 😛
thanks, Shra! That’s a great way to start (and hopefully end) the week: zap free 😛
I wonder why Sony didn’t choose the heritage town of Jodhpur in western India, also known as Blue City. See for yourself: http://www.photosbymartin.com/images/pcd 4231/jodhpur-fort-91.3.html
