Onedoor - When you find the grave, let me know. I will join you. We currently have a rescue dog. Only problem is, I'm not sure who rescued who.

Once upon a time, there was a stray dog who found some people. He was always happy to see them and he made them laugh, and made their lives larger with his own. When little children came to visit, he would sit patiently until the attention got to be a bit much, and he would walk to the door to be let out into the yard. He never hurt a child or adult. He would let the birds land in his yard and not startle them. I sometimes wish I could sit by his grave.

I swear that dog looks like Benji. Were there only ever 5 working dogs in Hollywood? I have heard that "human dies and dog waits for their return" story thousands of times. And I cry EVERY DAMN TIME. But one thing makes me slightly suspicious... I have never met a dog that faithful or that dumb. My current brood (who, to date, would give their lives for me) are no match for their pea sized attention span. I could see them trying to wait. To be valiant. But then one would fart and the other one would bark at him for it and then they would have no idea why they were sitting there. And they would go off looking for me. Or cheese. Whichever one they found first.

But *dog* history is sacred!

Well said, Dr.D. And BG, I can just see it now - that wee doggie scampering through the graveyard and lifting his leg on Old Man Bonderson's headstone...Way to go, Bobby!
