Oddly Enough Blog
News, but not the serious kind
Oh, the humanity!
Blog Guy, can you settle a bet I have with my investment manager’s astrologer?
Wait. Doesn’t it bother you that your investment manager HAS an astrologer?
Nah, it beats the hell out of his damned Magic 8-Ball. “Should I get out of the stock market?” “Ask again later…” Sheesh.
Anyway, he says the Pope gets a summer vacation, but I think the Pope works all the time.
You’re both right. The Pope does spend time at a fairly nice summer residence, at Castelgandolfo, Italy.
Just “fairly nice?” What’s wrong with it?
They don’t have TV reception there, not even basic cable. There’s no “Everybody Loves Raymond,” no nothing.
So what does he do for entertainment, then?
He watches Bavarian folk dancers, nonstop. Morning, noon and night. They haul ‘em in by the truckload.
OMG! That’s inhuman! Can he at least taunt them with rude comments?
Not while the cameras are on.
So hold on. Are you telling me the Pope…
Right. Doesn’t even know he missed “Shark Week.”

Why are some of the guys missing part of their socks?
Yeah, trust me to look for the abnormalities..
You know what? *I* didn’t know I missed Shark Week!
@Shra, that’s just how we roll in Bavaria!
You sure about that, Jib? Doesnt seem like there is much to roll here, is there?

Popey needs to get out more. I don’t have TV, yet I’ve never been reduced to seeking out Bavarian folk dancing…
That does it! There is no way I’ll EVER accept being pope if it means missing Shark Week! I really thought the job would pull down better perks than that.
I thought investent managers were astrologers; they’re always looking for a sign.
@Jazz: you could trade Shark Week for the Pope Mobile. A car with soul.
@Shra: maybe their socks at the half-off store…
“OOOhhhhh Magic 8-ball should I join the Oddly Enough blog network? Magic 8-ball says definitely!”
That’s High-Def for ya isn’t it Your Holiness? Feels like you are actually there huh?
Is that Pope Benedict or Pope Benefits? I wouldn’t mind staying at Castel Gandolfo if the Bavarian theme leads to this:

Heck, I’d enjoy a mug or two while on holiday, even though I don’t like beer…
…at his age? …with his eyesight? …They need to roll that darned crimson carpet out of the way so that the dancers can get close enough to the Pope so that he can see them. Maybe he’d feel sorry enough to buy them some new/whole socks.
They also seem to have white feathers in their caps… and they are dancing in front of a Pope in a white skull-cap..
Could it be that the White Hat Conpiracy has diversified?
Moonshine… I only alluded to staying at Castel Gandolfo, I wouldn’t want to be the Pope that’s for sure.
I don’t like wearing white caps.
Is he a pope or a king?
He’s a mix of both, I’d guess. A ‘ping’ or a’pong’, maybe?
i’d go with a ping
Heck, beer for everyone
wow….you can’t be serious. No tv? I bet he drinks a lot; you can’t enjoy a Bavarian folk dance without a few local Bavarian pints.
