Oddly Enough Blog

News, but not the serious kind

The food is greasy, but your hair is great!

October 6, 2011

Blog Guy, I need some advice on home entertaining, and I know you’re an expert. Can you help me with some nagging problems?

Sure, what can I do for you?

Well, we have some friends coming to dinner soon, but it falls on the same day of the month that I wash my hair! I can’t figure a way out of this one.

It’s a dilemma, that’s for sure, but I suggest you go for the new Panasonic hair washing robot, seen here being demonstrated on a mannequin.

This way, you can have the robot wash your hair, leaving you free to prepare a gourmet dinner for your guests. Problem solved?

Er, I was just going to zip over to a fast food drive-through to pick up the meal. You think the hair-washing robot comes in a mobile version?

Gosh, I wouldn’t be surprised. Good luck with rinsing and driving at the same time. Anything else I can help you with?

Actually, yes. I use drive-through windows all the time, but I have a hard time understanding what they say on those speakers.

Can I get something for my car that will amplify important messages like that? I’d hate to have to park and then walk 20 feet to the inside counter, especially with my hair dripping.

Why yes, I think I can help you with that problem, too. Check out this new gadget on the left.

Thanks, Blog Guy, you’re the best! Can I repay you by inviting you to my dinner party?

Darn the luck, I’d love to come, but that may be the very same evening I brush my teeth…

@Moonshine – Correct! That indeed is the French President, Mr. Nicholas Teacozy’s, car.
What gave it away?

What has the world come to? Are we so lazy that we can’t even wash our own hair? (Not that I have much left to wash, mind you.) What’s next, an automatic doughnut dispenser? Wait … I LIKE that idea.

That mannequin kinda looks like my sister …

As long as the robot is washing hair, would it be too much trouble to ask it to wash behind the ears?

Posted by uncarastus | Report as abusive

I’m guessing that the first “ear” is supposed to be “car?”

Don’t know about the ears… but the headlights resemble Mr. Sarkozy’s eyes and the hood is kinda bent down like his nose…
By the way, shouldn’t the ears be a little darker in tone ??

Was the hair washing robot invented by Caractacus Potts? I heard that his haircut machine didn’t work so well…

Who schedules a dinner party on the same night that s/he washes his/her hair? An inexperienced host, that’s who. I could only imagine how that person would be as a guest…

Another good thing about this modern invention: You don’t have to tip the hair-washing robot at the beauty salon.

@Nosmo: Is that a tautology?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/0 6/us-japan-robots-care-idUSTRE7954WG2011 1006 wow…that robot has 24 fingers. If the shampoo gig doesn’t work out, the robot can start a discount proctology office. 24 fingers, no waiting.

The folks tried to market that car model in Tokyo Disneyland, but The Disney Corp complained that the ears on the car weren’t black and round enough.

Billl, you’re right, it should be “an ear”…

Crow and Spin, I hear ya!

69Spin, The Disney folks actually refused that car on the grounds that they already have a vehicle with big ears. They call it the Dumbo Jet.

They’re currently being sued by Boeing about it though.
