		<description>Dave, thanks for this posting and to people's comments. However, to me, it's irrelevant whether or not people "want" to hear or see what I am reporting. I've spent most of my career covering stories nobody cares about, mostly in Africa. But this doesn't mean these stories are not worth telling. It is our duty to provide images or tell stories that make people see what is happening, to make them care, whether they want to or not. If we only provide images that people want, then we are pandering to an audience instead of challenging them and pushing them to think differently. That is why the best photojournalism is often discomforting to look at.
