You might say that it isnt but as soon as a video guy is equip with a HD camera…you can kiss the still camera away. Reuters will be very happy. They can pay a guy to shoot video for their web and the pictures can just come from the video. Editors get two products for the low salary of one video guy…your EDITORS AND MANAGERS OF REUTERS DONT CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF PHOTOJOURNALISM. The business is gone…dead…morons with camera phones and HD cameras are the future.

I wish it wasnt true either but IT IS.

Forgive me that was a sadistic and morbid thought.

I hear they still have cadetships in America. (?) Certainly it isn’t the case over here (Australia), with the media controlled largely by two big corporations (News Ltd and Fairfax), cadetships dried out a long time ago. A lot of us go out rural where the local newspapers are usually independent. Other than that, I couldnt think of a harder profession to crack, but Im willing to give it a hot go.
