I went to Auschwitz and Birkenau a few years ago with school and when I read the story and see the picture, just for a few minutes, it feels like I’m walking there again.
I think it’s horrible what they’ve done with all those people!

It is ahr for me to describe my visit there in words. Therefore I use my music and pictures.

You’re not human as I understand the term.

Someone commented that the tragedy was not that the Nazis murdered millions but that they committed murder millions of times. Each victim was a world lost.

To me the horror in what happened there comes mostly from its magnitude. That such hideous barbarity could continue on such a large scale while the rest of the world stood by and did nothing for so many years greatly troubles me.

As far as trying to understand the Nazis themselves, I don’t feel that they are much different than anyone else.
Look no further than the results of the Milgram experiment to see the suseptibility to follow orders ingrained in normal humans under the guise of western civilization.

The understanding that it only takes little to wake the unthinking perpetrators from their prediliction for conformity to the group heartens me. Only through the encouragement of free and unfettered thought and discussion could and can the heinous actions of Nazis and other like them be stopped in their tracks.

Auschwitz is a place that I have promised my self that I will visit one day. Take many pictures, but not the usual tourist type of images that are seen on many website, images, like yours, that reflect the horror that took place. As you stated, could they be called “people” well, I would not say they were normally “human”, maybe insane human’s, who were beyond help with their sick mentally ill condition. Still, I believe your images are excellent. Jeff Thomas www.jaypics.co.uk thomastwotimes@live.co.uk
