In the USA, you can photography pretty much anyone, in most places when use is editorial. I have started to write some books, including on street people, who are out and about. So long as I do not use their image to endorse a product, it falls under editorial/art use and it's pretty much okay. Certain other areas, like nudes and children in certain situations a model release is handy. Just wanted to know if the lady in question here was okay with being shot while giving birth to a baby. There would have been a lot less mention of feeling like a thief and maybe more information would have been covered that was pertinent to the women in India, questions that a woman who has had children would think to ask. I appreciate his efforts, but next time you want to cover a maternity ward full of birthing ladies, please send a woman.
