This is a wonderful article. I have one of FastFriends retired greyhounds. This organization is a wonderful and caring group. One comment about the mistreatment of greyhounds: I have no doubt these dogs are well treated and fed at the tracks, the so called mistreatment comes with little close human contact and the fact they live in a crate over 20 hours a day for their racing careers. Do the research and listen to both sides and make your own decision. I will say this, I have owned 10 different dogs in the last 20 years and my greyhound has been one of the best family pets of them all. Adopt one, you won’t be sorry.

What a wonderful article and photos! I have a retired racer through Greyhounds Only in Illinois. Franny is everything you could want in a dog – gentle, affectionate, mellow, well-mannered and of course gorgeous.

Greyhound make such wonderful companions because of the great treatment they receive during their racing career. The radical animals rights groups like PeTA, Grey2k, ALF and HSUS would like you to believe that these fine animals are mistreated. But that is far from the truth. Their only agenda is to end all human-animal enterprise, no matter how humane it is. Greyhounds are well treated, fed well, exercised regularly by their trainers and handlers. What a wonderful story! I have 2 retired racers through another rescue, Golden State Greyhound Adoption in Northern California. These dogs make the most wonderful companions.
