Lucas, when I saw boy’s face I instantly thought of my own boy who suffered a serious eye injury and would have lost his eye without the care he got in Washington. I shudder to think how people deal with serious medical issues in places like Afghanistan. I was greatly relieved that this was just a bee sting. Nice story.

beautiful story – beautiful photos – thank you for reminding people that afghanistan is not just a spot on a globe. look at how small the world really is – i can see boys and girls in blue right here in america – the sad part is their reception in the cities and byways here are often not as kind.
