Catholic – meaning ‘combined’…was raised one – saw the errors of their ways 1st hand…left and never looked back – folks would do well to do the same…island? how about fortress especially when it comes to child abuse…

“At the same time, I’m also struck by how wary they are, an island of religion in a sea of secularism.” What’s that supposed to mean? Is the island of Catholicism going to be washed over and die? Or is it a blessing in disguise that the church will become smaller and more devoted? The struggle for maintaining ones faith in a secular age will result in a strong church, not a wary one. Pessimism, as demonstrated by the pilgrims in this article, will not be tolerated by true Catholics, or true members of any other faith group.
