Pretty sure that even Richard can read the writing that's on the wall saying his campaign is just about over. So now he has the freedom to say just about anything he wants. The fact that he chooses to channel the Bar Room Buddies is "just good business". He made a bundle running for Prez, and he's still got his job back in Austin.

If Rick Perry was going to run a truthful ad, he would need just one. He would admit that he has no business whatsoever running for President and is dropping out.

The reason Washington has credibility problems is that bribery is legal in the USA as long as a certain protocol ("campaign contributions") is followed. Bribed officials do not make decisions that harm the hands that feed them.

The system is inherently corrupt.

One thing I'll say for Rick Perry: a few gaffes doesn't mean that a person has got nothing to say, or to contribute to the discussion. He's still got some worthwhile points to make, and it's interesting that all the candidates seem to be homing in on "truth" and "honesty" as the hot buzz-words for Iowa at the moment. There certainly is a credibility deficit in Washington at the moment...
