It is a class dominance issue.

The US military has not really served the interests of the common people of the USA (euphemistically called the “People” in political documents) for nearly 50 years. Since the end of the Soviet Union, it has become simply a taxpayer funded tool of expanded international power for an oligarchy almost exclusively housed in New York City and Washington, D.C. and manned by lower 90% disenfranchised cannon fodder.

We can do without 75% of it, especially foreign bases and deployed forces.

IF attacked we should strike back limit the time in to just enough to round up and kill a lot of the upper class who run the nation, particularly the ones the promote violent culture or finance it.

The idea not to able to change the world just make sure they prefer to pick on others out of self preservation and preservation of their backer.

There are over a billion Muslims in the world and a lot have violent religious ideas and still more look on the the violent ones as not their problem or as saintly. The USA alone should not try to change too many of them.

Also our military should be made to fight armies not be occupation police. Locals know the language and customs we do not. If our military become occupation police they will buy the wrong weapons for real war.

The best of the Soviet empire’s nuclear weapons trained on U.S. soil are still there. If they remain “off-line”, the process of bringing them back “online” is simple and short. Does anyone today seriously doubt that this is not already under way?

There are multiple reasons the world is NOT a much less dangerous place for Americans. In addition to Russia, China and Iran are steadily increasing military expenditures and capabilities and North Korea and Venezuela will remain “wild cards”. Islamist militants control the “heart and soul” of Islam today in much the same manner as the Nazis took over and deployed Germany in the 1930s.

Islamic terrorists are their “shock troops”, with more always being born than they expend. Their Koran makes all “unbelievers” an enemy of Islam. It is just a matter of time, and not long in the grand “scheme of things” for muslims to progressively assume control of the democratic process of Western civilizations.

The Israelis know that the Palestinians breed like rabbits and would overwhelm Israel politics and culture as a “Jewish” state were any “right of return” permitted. Time is NOT on the side of any country with a substantial muslim population already permanently entrenched.

At a time the very survival of America’s “way of life” is increasingly at stake by multiple challengers increasingly skilled at “asymmetrical warfare”, any “choice” as to whether or not we can “afford” an effective defense will likely be an ongoing one. The moment Americans choose unwisely, it’s over! The thrust we cannot parry will consign us to history.
