It’s hard to take seriously any politician who feigns empathy for the middle class but is unwilling to tackle the massive trade deficit that has exported millions of manufacturing jobs while racking up a cumulative $12 trillion deficit since our last trade surplus in 1975.

By: pavoter1946 Thu, 06 Dec 2012 15:47:43 +0000 Rubio did tout a number of small-bore policy initiatives, including Flexible Savings Accounts that allow families to save for medical expenditures…..

That isn’t going to help families that are barely getting by. Hard for them to sock away thousands of dollars in a tax advantaged savings account, and then make sure they don’t lose the money when the year ends.

Where is the plan to bend the curve down on the cost of health care? Or help them either keep or get decent health insurance coverage? Republicans still want to kill Obamacare and put people again at the mercy of insurance companies.

Making the tax code friendlier to families with children, possibly along the lines of former Bush Treasury Department official Robert Stein’s call for a greatly expanded child tax credit….

Wait a minute. Isn’t that the type of tax credit, first proposed by Republicans, that is partly responsible for many not having any Federal income tax liability, and hence part of the heavily attacked 47% ?

By: Gordon2352 Thu, 06 Dec 2012 15:24:46 +0000 Are you serious?

Since when did the Republican party ever care what happened to anyone but the wealthy class?

This is nothing but pathetic policitical rhetoric, generated because the Republicans got hammmered in the elections.

You people need to change your mascot of an elephant from gray to white. Your party has become a white elephant that no one wants to buy anymore.

You are out of touch with the reality of the world as it has become.

Your credo of self-serving greed isn’t cutting it anymore.

By: jcfl Thu, 06 Dec 2012 15:04:39 +0000 rubio’s problem – trying to make people believe his party is not just for the wealthy. not changing that fact, just getting them to believe otherwise. not much new here, just another twist on a very old theme.
