“Larry the Loophole” versus private equity

Brave New Films, a group that has taken aim at Henry Kravis in the past, has a new cartoon that criticizes private equity Schoolhouse Rock-style in “The War on Greed starring Larry the Loophole.” Kravis is portrayed as a craven businessman in a tuxedo “who’s got it all figured out, and your little problems aren’t what he’s about.”

“Private equity is an intricate and complex money-making tactic, but it comes down to a very simple bottom line: greedy financiers make a killing, while taxpayers get screwed,” said Robert Greenwald, director of Brave New Films, in a statement put out by the Service Employees International Union. “We thought a cartoon could explain it better than any pundit.”
