However, right now, I think there is still a market for the Stock Market Casino. I suspect I’ll lose more than I gain, but if I pull out now, I’ll lose too much. This Stock Market Lotto mentality must cease. What infuriates me the most is that the Republicans who think making the rich richer will pay our bills wanted us to put all of our personal retirement into the market via 401Ks and they wanted to transfer our public retirement (Soc Sec) into the market as well. Well, in a rich lady’s infamous words… “Let them eat beans”, er, ‘cake’, whatever.

This system can indeed fail and take much of what stands with it. The direction of greater and greater wealth and power accumulating in fewer and fewer hands must and will be reversed. Historically it always has. The only questions are how and when.

Owning stock is not so much a bet on America as it is a bet on our current politicians. Those politicians and the people who control them can cause a great deal of damage before there is a change of government.

This kind of gray area is lost on people who write five-minute blog posts. I have a pretty modest portfolio of good stocks, and with one exception (AAPL) they have all gone down.

This canard is great retrospective insight. So where is your portfolio since 2000 if you made no contribution?
