Scouring the web for Wiis, Uggs, and iPods

wii.jpgWeird product names aside, U.S. shoppers are on the hunt for Wii video game consoles, Ugg boots and iPod music players this holiday season.
 
According to Hitwise, Nintendo’s Wii continues to be the top searched-for product this holiday season. U.S. searches for the Wii jumped 274 percent for the week ending Dec. 8 compared with the previous week, it said.
 
Uggs and Apple’s iPod products are also among the top product searches this season, it said.

Hitwise said consumers are also seeking out devices for displaying and listening to digital media formats - digital photo frames and iPods, and other mp3 players.

Special consoles designed for children are also popular this year, it said, with searches rising for products like the Leapfrog Leapster TV system and the Radica IM Me Wireless Text Messaging device.
