But does it come with www.pepperoni.com?

pizza.jpgProving the theory that there’s always someone willing to buy everything, domain name “pizza.com” is up for sale — and someone’s willing to pay more than $2.5 million for the right to own it.

The Web site provides all sorts of general information about pizza, including recipes, coupons and where to get pizza in your neighborhood or zip code.

While the Web site has links to all the usual pizza suspects — Domino’s, Pizza Hut, California Pizza Kitchen, etc. — it will also help you find local pizza joints like Benny Tudino’s in Hoboken, NJ (home of the gigantic slice and seen in the picture below); Ski & Benny’s Pizza in Anchorage, Alaska and Benny’s Pizza in Beardstown, Illinois.

Pizza.com also has news stories written about pizza, games for the kids and discussion forums.

benny.jpgThe domain name is being sold by Sedo.com, which also currently has auctions for such domain names as southcarolinagolfnews.com (no price set yet), k8q.com (priced at $222); zap6.com ($100); and recently sold bce.com for $28,001.

Jeremiah Johnston, chief operating officer of Sedo, said he couldn’t tell us who was leading in the bidding so far, but he expected the price to continue to climb.

“Most of our traffic hits in the last 10 hours of the auctions,” he said. Pizza.com is scheduled to remain on the block for another two days.

So, Pizza.com is going to sell for a pretty sweet price, too, but Sedo is used to big numbers. Johnston said Sedo has already sold vodka.com for $3 million, eggs.com for $112,500 and equity.com for $100,000.

That’ll buy someone a lot of pizzas!

I see that Sedo is gaining some good responses for its auctions . Currently pizza.com is for auction and ends with in 1d 10hr. And another domain northcarolinejobs.com for $ 50500. it is also on the same made. Now pizza.com received a next bid for 2,605,000 USD. Note: whether the site gives dat on pizza huts of here and there. But the original owner sells his domain only and not the site content.

Best Regards

Newsworthy sale! But the most valuable domain name sale ever may well occur at the Ocean Tomo ip auction on 25/6 June 2008.
