I have the Kindle 2 and love it except for the fact that when you click to turn the page it makes a sound. And because of screen size, you do a lot of clicking. The sound is very noticeable in a quiet room - like when you are in bed. Waiting to see if my husband complains. Wish it somehow had a silent touch feature to turn page.
Otherwise I love it.

I love eBooks, and I'm glad that Amazon's position as a major entity is calling attention to eBooks. However, Amazon's proprietary format is a HUGE problem. I don't want to be locked into buying eBooks from only one source, and I want to be able to read my eBooks wherever I am - including on my desktop at work. I used my sister's Kindle for a few weeks last year, and was unimpressed. There are great alternatives out there - I currently use the Cybook, which is lighter, more attractive, cheaper, and I can buy eBooks from a variety of sources (more about the Cybook). The Kindle, while frequently touted as a "huge leap forward", really exemplifies why so many people are hesitant to try eBooks.

If someone can make a mass market ebook reader, must be amazon. but not with the kindle 2. is so much expensive, and most people doesn't expend 370 dollars in books.

Most people are satisfied with one book on their commutes. Books cost about 10 bucks nowadays, not $360. The promise of a future with all books ever printed is one thing, and maybe that’s something I want to participate in. But version 2.0 doesn’t get us there.
