Check Out Line: Irene’s sweet reward

Check out what the CEO of the world’s largest confectioner earned in 2009.
Kraft Foods’ Irene Rosenfeld’s compensation package rose about 41 percent to $26.3 million last year.
That’s what successful dealmaking can land you.
Rosenfeld engineered the largest North American food maker’s a deal to buy British chocolatier Cadbury last month after a prolonged battle, creating the world’s largest confectioner.
While Rosenfeld’s salary stayed at 2008 levels of about $1.5 million, she got $7.8 million in stock awards, about $1.9 million in option awards and about $4 million in annual incentive awards. She also received $10.6 million in a non-equity incentive plan.
Kraft had decided last March to freeze salaries of top executives in 2009.
