Check Out Line: A new pizza recipe wasn’t enough for Domino’s

pizza1Check out the new CEO at Domino’s Pizza.

Less than a month after revamping its pizza recipe to lure in more customers, the U.S. pizza delivery chain said it plans to elect the head of its U.S. operations Patrick Doyle as its next CEO at a meeting next month.

Don’t feel sad for outgoing CEO David Brandon though. He will remain as a “special advisor”  through this year and doesn’t have to look for a new home as he is moving down the road in Ann Arbor, Michigan to become the University of Michigan’s next athletic director. Go Blue, indeed.

In December, Domino’s made its pizza crusts more garlicky, tweaked its tomato sauce and upgraded its cheese in a move to upgrade the taste of its product, which research firm Brand Keys said tied for last with children’s pizza party chain Chuck E. Cheese.

When the going gets tough, men go for chocolate

Seems like the business men who are dealing with the market fallout may be learning something from the fairer sex when it comes using food to boost their mood.

According to a Brand Keys survey, men are reaching for chocolate bars more frequently these days. Every one of the 750 men in the survey, taken Friday through Sunday, said they were eating more chocolate.
