I agree, I have seen a very nice post about safety and security in the cloud , you might want to take a look at it and let me know what you think

No, I definitely have also been looking for a good, cheap online backup solution. A flash drive serves a different purpose than backup. Think about it; the standard ones these days are maybe 8GB. 8GB is maybe enough for some of the photos I'd want to backup, possibly all of them. But then it would be only photos. And a flash drive is really easy to lose or get stolen. Hardly secure.

Then again, I'd get an external drive if I'm looking for a good on-site backup solution, but if there's plenty of reason for an off-site backup solution.

Hopefully, though, these guys and others who have other great ideas can market this correctly and get the attention they deserve. Maybe using Vimeo and AdWido would be helpful.

I do wish them all the best! However, I agree with Steve D. statement about the competition from the manufactures.

I am all for cloud computing, but to wrestle my information from me and have a 3rd party being responsible for the safeguard of it is something I cannot phantom. It is very easy for me to keep my stuff backed up and safe.

One thought, if it is easy for me to retrieve my information from their services, what safeguards do they have keep others from easily retrieving my information as well!

So, with that said, backup cloud computing will never be on my list of things to do.

Storage is storage is storage: how is the customer to differentiate between offerings? It either works or it doesn't, at a price commensurate with the value. Why not start a taxi company - that's almost as innovative.
