Luc, I agree with you that perennial underachievers Spain might do it this time. But Germany look awesome as well while you can also not discard France, Italy and Portugal. All the heavyweights, that is.

The Netherlands are certainly not uderdogs, I would say they are in the dark horses category. But their vulnerability at the back might stop them from going ll the way, if they progress from the group of death.

I think Austria are going to spring a surprise and get out of that group. They’re not capable of doing a Greece, though. If I had to pick an outsider I’d go for Romania, who look absolute class. Group of Death indeed.

a netherlands victory is long overdue. perhaps assigning this squad underdog status for euro 2008 will result in a ‘greek’ style shock. furthermore, progressing from the group of death is a difficult task in itself. doing so would essentially provide the team with all the drive and ebullience required to win the title.
