Yes. I think Mexico can look forward to a quarter final place in South Africa in 2010. However, despite a solid first-half performance and a narrow, but deserved lead at half-time, the opposing manager will make a telling tactical change. Eriksson will react by not reacting and Mexico will exit the competition with a feeble second-half display.
He'll get Mexico to the next level, but Eriksson's teams don't seem to be able to build on promising starts nowadays.

I think Mexico is actually in need a coach like Erikssons. Mexicans are improving a lot and good European coach like him could help.

Just gotta wait and see

Why does Jared Borgetti make Eriksson's nationality an issue? Does he once mention Eriksson's professional experience? I would remind those that don't want a foreigner as Mexico coach.

How far did Mexico go with -Argentinean- La Volpe?

How many games or trophies did Mexico win with -Mexican- manager Hugo Sanchez? Hugo Sanchez couldn't even make Mexico beat its eternal rivals, USA in 2 games. Sanchez then couldn't manage the unhappy dressing room. Even captain Rafa Marquez didn't want to stay and play the last match at the Copa America.

I think Sven would be able to adapt very well to the rough conditions that the Mexico post would entail. He is the ultimate pro and will get results no matter what team he is in charge of. If you want to hear some soccer music come to www.myspace.com/jaredsagal

Sven-Goran Eriksson dragged England out of the wilderness and up to FIFA No.4 world ranking losing only five competitive matches during his tenure.
Amid howls of protest from official England FC fan organisations and amazement from the England squad, TheFA let him go with disastrous results for Euro08...
If the MCFC owner fulfills his apparent "death wish" for his club's chances of emulating Sven's record breaking Lazio achievements, I don't think any other national squad or league club should do anything to discourage Svennis?
