Mourinho is a manager of men and a master of strategy, the former I think much more important than the latter. Anyone see the Chelsea documentary on FSC? Yeah, it was a flattering puff piece, but if you read between the lines and watch the interplay between Mourinho and his players, one thing is clear, the room may be full of superegos, but his is the biggest and that is his edge.

His players love him, he treats them as men, and manages them accordingly. A boatload of money helps bring in talented men, but plenty of talented teams (ie, the Beckham, Owen Real Madrid teams) couldn’t win. That’s a manager’s greatest value, and Mourinho’s got it.

I seriously doubt Jose Murinio is going to be as big in Italy as he was in England.

Let’s look at this more closly. When he started coaching Chelsea, they were not winning anything. So when he brought them two back to back EPL titles it was a big deal.

But expectations in Italy and at Inter are high as Inter has had 3 championships back to back and people expect only better from that club.

Besides Serie A is a whole different type of league Jose is used to.
