To be honest, i wouldn't have agreed to this article a few years ago however, the now i feel there aren't that many suitable candidates to take over from Fergie right now. Mourinho is one of the few. I'm not convinced at his brand of football however there is no doubt that he is a winner.

agree that the sounds Jose gets back to England the better. He's probably realised how much he loved it over here and he perhaps prefers the style of football too. Which might be a little strange because he can be slightly on the defensive side which you'd think would be ideal for Italy.
Anyway, not 100% sure he's really Utd's style, although he's definitely big enough to do it, my money would be on either O'Neill or Keane (depended on how long Ferguson remains).
If Benitez goes in the next couple of years, The Special One will be at Anfield. Always thought that he wanted the Liverpool job before he went to Chelsea and Benitez got it.
Wherever he goes, can't wait for him to return, even if it's just for the press conferences!

Jose Mourinho has proved himself at the top level. He has the ability and character to handle a job of this magnitude.

He has an abundance of charisma, enthusiasm and self belief which would be essential in this position. Mourinho's only problem, and it could be a big one at a Manchester United, is his cautious approach to football in that he plays a percentage game.

Overall though he would be the leading contender, just ahead of Roy Keane who has demonstrated the same steely determination and abililty in management as he did as a player.

The clever money is on Phil Brown to replace Sir Alex!!
We will be sad to see him go and I guess we'll have to consider the "special one".

However Mourinho gets back in the Premier League, it is something most fans of English football would like to see. It's just not quite the same without him.

Man Utd are a world class side and there aren't too many managers in the game that would warrant a crack at Old Trafford... Mourinho is one of a few who might.
