nickel are you serious gerrard? he is nowhere near as influential as Ribery, gerrard wouldn’t be able to do half as much as he does without the solid midfield play from xabi alonso who has been liverpool’s most important player all year

If you talk about influence than gerrard at liverpool has just as much as ribery. gerrard is the one that drives liverpool on and without him they would not be joint top of the league or anything like it.

It will certainly be a sad day for Bayern and the Bundesliga as a whole if he decides he needs to go to England, Spain or Italy to really prove himself.

In the current game, given the state of the major leagues, Ribery probably is the only individual who stands out so much. England has Ronaldo but it also has Gerrard. Del Piero is having an amazing purple patch in Italy but Ibrahimovic actually has more skill. Where there’s a Messi there’s a four-goal Eto’o and Benzema has Juninho behind him.
There was once a player who carried an entire team to two championships. Can anyone remember a Napoli player in 87 or 90 that wasn’t Maradona?
