Crowds fully respect that kind of feelings as long as they don't interfere in players' commitment during the match. As it didn't this time, since Villa is a total pro. Luis Enrique, former Real Madrid and Barça player, and also raised in Sporting's renowned youth system, didn't celebrate goals against Sporting either. Things are totally different when it comes to playing for the national team though. I think no one would ever tolerate any player any less than a total emotional commitment with the team.
