What can he do in 8 games that all the other managers were not able to do, the game is not played on inspiration alone. He experience is almost next to nothing, all we can do is be optimistic and hope he does. Good thing for him the bottom half of the table is packed

Its an April fools joke that he thinks Newcastle can be saved, let alone be the Manager.

He is a Newcastle hero so I think he gets enough support from the fans. But on the other hand, he doesn’t have experience as a manager of a club. Shearer would become ‘immortal’ in Newcastle if he saves them from relegation.

It’s kind of the same story as van Basten as the new head coach of Ajax.

If it is an April Fool there’s going to be a lot of journalists with red faces. This was written about in all seriousness across the British media. But as you say, it did come out before midnight so it would mean BBC had broken the rules.

Shearer is the Messiah and will certainly save the day hopefully he will get rid of the timewaster wise in the long run and get our famous club back on track
