UPDATE: City v Chelsea tops our Premier League predictions

December 7, 2009

RTXCSZL[3]LAMPSSSSS

MONDAY UPDATE: So how did you do? Here at Reuters we had our usual collection of baffling predictions and near misses along with a surprisingly high amount of lucky stabs in the dark.

It was a good job I made Man City v Chelsea the double pointer as two “experts” correctly plumped for the 2-1 City win. I fear an amount of copying also took place with Arsenal v Stoke as seven panel memebers were right to guess 2-0.

Updated scores
Reuters Soccer blog panel: Patrick Johnston 144, Mitch Phillips 132, Paul Radford 122, Simon Evans 113, Mark Meadows 112, Mike Collett 111, Kevin Fylan 100, Neil Maidment 100, Miles Evans 89, Julien Pretot 89, Asia Sports Desk 79, Martyn Herman 74, Justin Palmer 41, Sonia Oxley 37

See you back here on Friday for more Premier League predictions fun.

FRIDAY POST: Amid World Cup draw fever, we have the far from minor matter of our Premier League predictions competition.

Most of us have had the bad luck of the Irish of late (Incompetence, surely Ed) and this weekend offers some ponderous fixtures.

Manchester City v Chelsea is probably the standout game. Moneybags City have had a string of draws but leaders Chelsea are in great league form. How do you square that circle? Just to be mean, I’ll make that our double pointer.

Remember one point for a correct result and five for a correct score. Please play along in the comments.

patrick going for an Arsenal draw at home to Stoke? Is that some kind of psychological ploy, or do you know something we don’t, Patrick?

Got 8 for the week not too great if im honest but onto 111 now miscounted before this week but have rechecked all my scores at great length( whilst bored at my desk at work).

Where their any bonus points on offer for guessing the goal scorers? If so onto 112 with my Tevez shout.
