Woeful Arsenal dumped out of Cup, Chelsea held
LONDON (Reuters) – Arsenal’s miserable week got worse Saturday when they were knocked out of the FA Cup in a 2-0 fifth round defeat at Sunderland while beleaguered Chelsea fared only slightly better by scraping a 1-1 draw against second tier Birmingham City.
Three days after a 4-0 Champions League defeat at AC Milan that manager Arsene Wenger branded their “worst performance in Europe,” Arsenal’s sloppiness was back as Kieran Richardson’s strike and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s own goal sealed their fate.

Donovan eyes permanent Everton move
LIVERPOOL, England (Reuters) – LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan would like to turn his brief taste of the Premier League with Everton into something more permanent once he has led his club to more Major League Soccer (MLS) success.
The 29-year-old United States midfielder, his country’s all-time leading goalscorer, has spent the MLS off-season on loan at the Merseysiders and has shone in his two months there like he did during his other short spell with the team two years ago.

Mancini treated me like a dog, says Tevez
MANCHESTER (Reuters) – Manchester City’s rebel striker Carlos Tevez left Argentina for England on Monday taking manager Roberto Mancini’s olive branch with one hand and hurling an accusation he was treated “like a dog” with the other.
The 28-year-old is heading back to the Premier League club that he has not played for since September after defying Italian Mancini’s instruction to warm up during the Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich.
