Strauss is batting well but is an uninspirational captain. Pietersen should have kept the job or if not they should have gone back to Flintoff.
One positive which no one has mentioned is the bolwing of Jimmy Anderson which was fantastic in the final test. If he continues to develop that lethal inswinger of his England have a chance against Australia.

It is rather frustrating to have been so close, but as above, Strauss hasn't really been too inspiring.

Bring back Pietersen as captain - at least if we lose, it'll be interesting before, during, and after the game.

While I'll admit that Strauss' captaincy hasn't left me inspired after this series, his appointment shows what a dire state the game is in England.
Yes he's a solid choice but let's face it, there's no one else. And who's his heir apparent? Alistair Cook. Fills you with optimism for an exciting England team of the future doesn't it? Not quite.
England should just pick the entire Sky and BBC commentary teams. Beefy, Bumble, Athers, Hussain, Willis, Aggers, Boycott et al would bring some much-needed entertainment back into our lives.
