If UEFA had the Champions League replace the teams' domestice leagues, THEN you would have parity. A proper season with a league table.

The Knicks show that you have to manage well within your cap don't they?

The biggest weakness of the Premier League is that there are only a few teams that have a real chance of winning it.

The days when Forest, Villa and Everton could win the league are over.

Likewise in Italy - can you imagine Cagliari or Bologna winning another Serie A title?

That's sad.

Soccer fans like it the way it is. With European leagues you get the brand you support, with American leagues you never know when your team is gonna be good or not, the wild shifts and bad management are unfair to fans who support their teams. And the biggest teams in Europe are in the biggest cities where the market spends and therefore the team can spend. Why should the most people have to endure a pitiful team like the New York Knicks? And you reference the NFL but why haven't you noticed that the MLB does fine without a salary cap. Please don't try to infect European leagues with the NFL again.

I think there is a happy medium. Part of the fun of soccer is that small teams enjoy facing the giants. if Everton, Newcastle and Aston Villa had been the last thre champions it wouldnt be so exciting to play a particular side.
Dynasties (short as they were) like the 49ers, Cowboys, Patriots and Colts help create greatness but i guess if an NFL team can dominate for some years then it means they really are strong
