The Lineman’s NFL Picks — Week 2
Just like the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers it was a decent if unspectacular start to a new season for the Lineman, who was a respectable 4-2 in Week One.
But still room for improvement so here we go with another Six-Pack for Week Two.
Record: 4-2. Last week 4-2. Pick of the Week: 0-1
PICK OF THE WEEK
Houston Texans (1-0) at Washington Redskins (1-0) (Line Texans minus-2.5): The Washington Redskins continue their Texas two-step start to the season following up a shock Week One win over the Dallas Cowboys with a visit from the Houston Texans.
It seems weird that Houston would represent the tougher game of a Texas doubleheader but there is a power shift going on in the Lone Star state with Dallas on the decline.
The Texans roll into D.C. bristling with confidence after a season-opening win over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
NFL Week 16 picks
Well the Lineman hopes everyone is having a good holiday and would like to add to all the good cheer with a winning Week 16.
Happy Holidays and may all your picks be winning ones.
Record: 47-43. Last week 3-3. Pick of the Week: 8-7
PICK OF THE WEEK Dallas Cowboys (9-5) at Washington Redskins (4-10) (Line Cowboys minus 6 1/2) The Dallas Cowboys finally put an end to talk of a December swoon — for one week at least — after rolling into the Big Easy and taking down the unbeaten Saints last Sunday. After three tough contests against the Giants, Chargers and Saints, the Cowboys get a doormat for Christmas and it could be the perfect gift.
With the Giants and Packers also making moves and the NFC East crown still within reach, the Cowboys will have to keep their foot on the gas against the Deadskins, who were demolished 45-12 by G-Men in a Monday Night Massacre.
Cowboys against Redskins remains one of the NFL’s nastiest rivalries and Washington has won three of last four at home over the Cowboys. The Redskins could not provide disgruntled fans a better Christmas present than atoning for their Monday Night stinker by denting Cowboy playoff hopes.
But Christmas and a short week make a bounce back by the Redskins unlikely. This game should at least provide Skins fans a chance to say “goodbye” to coach Jim Zorn, who will finish the holidays dusting off his resume.
NFL week 15 picks, Part II
Well, after a very solid Week 14 and a promising start to Week 15 — taking the Jacksonville Jaguars to cover against the Indy Colts — the Lineman is on a roll going 5-2 in the last seven picks.
But we still have a big weekend ahead, including Pick of the Week. Hopefully the Lineman can provide a little Holiday Cheer.
PICK OF THE WEEK
Arizona Cardinals (8-5) at the Detroit Lions (2-11) (Line Cardinals minus 10 1/2)
The Cardinals are fuming following a fumble-fest loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday and are ready to take out it out on the whipped Lions.
Arizona turned the ball over seven times in a Monday Night embarrassment but now get a chance to lockup a second straight NFC West title by stomping on one of the NFL’s door mats.
Cards quarterback Kurt Warner has bounced back big after a loss this season, completing 73 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and no interceptions in four games after a defeat.
Week 11 NFL picks
Well, that was a bruising week but 2-4 still leaves the Lineman above .500.
After the last 2-4 we had a big bounce back week so that’s the game plan again.
I was going to start off by making the Miami Dolphins my Pick of the Week but since that game has been played, well that would be cheating (I think).
Anyway, I get the impression many of you think I would still make the wrong pick – even if the game had been played.
But the Lineman can take a hit and is looking for revenge this week — starting with Pick of the Week.
http://blogs.reuters.com/sport/2009/11/2 1/week-11-nfl-picks/ is great! you have many fans in my country.
Week Ten NFL Picks
Well, the Lineman was back on track last week with a satisfying 4-2 performance that should have been 5-1 (Come on, who would EVER pick the Bucs to do in the Pack). At first glance – and second – this looks the toughest test so far this season with compelling stats to go both ways on a number of games. But no sitting on the fence, so here we go.
Record: 29-25. Last week 4-2. Pick of the Week: 5-4
PICK OF THE WEEK:
Denver Broncos (6-2) at Washington Redskins (2-6) (Line Broncos minus 3 1/2) I was not one of those getting all gushy about the Broncos 6-0 start to the season and two straight losses — albeit to tough opponents — have brought the Mile High boys back to earth.
But like everyone else I have been far less than impressed with the dysfunctional Redskins, who brought a bingo caller out of retirement to call plays.
The Redskins opened the season with the Tour of the NFL Dregs and still gave the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs their only wins of the season so far. Things get tough from here on in.
Denver ‘s defence is for real and can still cause havoc but quarterback Kyle Orton has struggled and the offence is sputtering putting just 17 points on the board the last two games, scoring one touchdown.
2012 will be Buffalo Bills’s year. if the world doesn’t end first.
Week Seven NFL Picks
The Lineman had been in a bit of slump the last three weeks. After a very solid start to the season he has picked just six winners the last three weeks. We were hit hard by upsets last week (give me a break Raiders and Bills both picking up wins). But we are still ..500 on the season and Pick of the Week is back at .500.
Record: 18-18. Last week 2-4. Pick of the Week: 3-3
PICK OF THE WEEK:
New Orleans Saints (5-0) at Miami Dolphins (2-3) (Line Saints minus 6 1/2): OK, am I missing something? The Saints have won every game by more than 14 points, last week they torched the unbeaten New York Giants 48-27 and quarterback Drew Brees has put on an air-tossing 13 touchdowns including four against the New Yorkers, who came into the Big Easy with the NFL’s top ranked defence.
The Dolphins looked like fish out of water the first three weeks before putting together back-to-back wins and are coming off a bye week. Chad Henne has done a better than expected job taking over the signal calling for injured Chad Pennington but this one has Fish Fry written all over it.
Take the Saints and happily surrender the 6 1/2 points.

I personally dont really agree with everything people are saying about the eagles. I mean obvioulsy im an eagles fan but they have a stacked team and will definetly go far if they dont play like they did agaainst the raiders. Ecspecaily with Deshawn jackson, our new recruit witherspoon, mcnabb throwing better, and TRENT COLE!!!!!!
Week Six NFL picks
After a Week Four meltdown the Lineman is back heading in the right direction going 3-3 in Week Five. We are still stinging after missing Pick of the Week by 1/2 point but we can back to .500 this week with the Panthers.
Record: 16-14. Last week 3-3
Pick of the Week: 2-3
PICK OF THE WEEK
Carolina Panthers (1-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-5)
(Line Panthers minus 3 1/2)
Delhomme still has not found his mojo?well, better luck next time for him.
Panthers need to show their bite after Lineman takes a mauling
OUCH, the ol’Lineman took a pounding last time going 1-5 but Week Five is bounce back week.
As we race by the regular season quarter pole we are a tick above .500 but look for better in a week that features some big spreads.
Record: 13-11. Last week 1-5. Pick of the Week: 2-2
PICK OF THE WEEK
Washington Redskins (2-2) at Carolina Panthers (0-3) (Line Panthers minus 3 1/2)
The Panthers come off a bye week where they had plenty of time to digest a disappointing 0-3 start. Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme has been a turnover machine. Delhomme has plenty of weapons at his disposal in wide outs Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad and running back DeAngelo Williams but must make better use of them. While Delhomme has looked shaky, Washington QB Jason Campbell hasn’t exactly been tearing up the league.
Redskins’ two wins have come over winless Rams and Buccaneers. The bye week came at an ideal time for the Panthers, who now look at a very appealing schedule starting with Redskins on Sunday followed by Tampa Bay and the Buffalo Bills who count one win between them. A home win Sunday and the Panthers will like their chances of getting to 3-3 and back in the playoff hunt.

Interesting to see what sort of reception Vick gets, especailly from dog lovers…
