Inside the Tent: actor Kevin Farley on conservatives in Hollywood

September 4, 2008

Are Hollywood Republicans “coming out of the closet” with their conservative beliefs? “A little, not a lot,” actor Kevin Farley tells Inside the Tent contributor John Steward.

Inside the Tent has more than 40 delegates and other attendees in Denver and St. Paul, equipped with video cameras to capture the conventions from the ground up. Steward is not a Reuters employee and any opinions expressed are his own.

When did Kevin Farley become a celebrity?

I EXPECTED SARAH PALIN TO GET ON BASE WITH HER SPEECH; HOWEVER, I DID NOT EXPECT A GRAND SLAM HOME RUN! SHE MADE IT HAPPEN. THE DNC AND BIASED MEDIA STABBED HILLARY IN THE BACK BUT THEY WON’T STOP SARAH!

LAST WEEK, SENATOR McCAIN CONGRATULATED OBAMA ON HIS NOMINATION AND DID NOT INTERRUPT THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION. HE WAITED UNTIL FRIDAY TO NAME SARAH PALIN AS HIS RUNNING MATE. McCAIN SHOWED A SENSE OF DIGNITY AND GAVE TRUE RESPECT FROM ONE HUMAN BEING TO ANOTHER.

OBAMA IS A SNAKE IN THE GRASS WHO WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO GET WHAT HE WANTS.

HAD OBAMA BEEN PROPERLY VETTED BY THE DNC AND BIASED MEDIA, HE WOULD NOT BE IN THIS RACE — HILLARY WOULD BE.

I’M SURE OBAMA DEMANDED THE BILL O’REILLY TV SPOT TO OFFSET SENATOR McCAIN’S ACCEPTANCE SPEECH; HOWEVER, I’M DISAPPOINTED THAT O’REILLY GAVE IT TO HIM. WILL O’REILLY DO OR SAY ANYTHING TO GET WHAT HE WANTS?

I’M VOTING McCAIN/PALIN IN NOVEMBER.

AMERICA FIRST!

Yeah, who is Kevin Farley and what’s this weird post in ALL CAPS calling Obama a snake in the grass? We’re not anywhere close to the garden of Eden here. And he is the only politician who hasn’t been viciously attacking and tearing down his rivals. Is this snake comment a coded reference to his skin color? Either way, totally out of line.

PALIN is not a hockey mom, but more of a “honkey” mom.
And, to answer your question about Kevin Farley, he became “famous” when his brother cast him in a movie.

Rich/upper middle class america first! McCain may show dignity in spurts, but that’s just a shadow of his former self emerging. Take a chance on Obama – McCain has turned his back on the kind of senator he once was to garner wider support in the Republican party. A party that is still somehow in denial over how terrible the Bush administration truly was.

When did the GOP EVER put country first?!?!? And wasn’t that the Slogan for the DNC?!?!?!
What the hell is wrong with you people?

Palin is a good speaker and a charismatic young woman, but her issues, history and positions should frighten thinking people. She is opposed to the Constitution, wanting to teach one religion in public schools, and having tried to ban books from the public library. She is anti-women, as she would deny them a safe and legal abortion in the case of rape, incest, or when the mother’s life was at risk.

She flipped on her own Alaskan’s by supporting then opposing the bridge to Ketchikan, as was politically expedient. She thinks the war in Iraq is God’s will … sounds just like the terrorists. She thinks a war in one nation will stop a fanatical religion in 100. Would losing a war against her religion in America stop her from her fanatical beliefs? I hope not, but she will lose that war. Americans have seen evangelicals and NeoCons in power long enough.

Palin was hardly convincing despite the GOP sycophantic ravings. She came off as mean and vengeful. Hillary is tough, Palin appears to be a mean opportunist who is vastly underqualified to be “a heartbeat away” from an ailing President.

I am pretty much terrified that if McCain and Palin get in office this election that religion is going to rule America. This cannot happen. We have too many people following different or no religions at all.

Oh God, Please save us! =P

Why do republicans always have to write in ALL CAPS? It comes off like Kevin James yelling “IT’S ALL ABOUT APPEASEMENT, CHRIS!” Good grief. Learn how write, open a history book, turn down the volume, and you might just come off like an adult. I might even read your post! Who know, yours may be an intelligent opinion. But not this one, it’s just WHAH WHAH THE MEDIA WHAH WHAH MAYOR OF WASSILA BLAH BLAH GOP GOP GOP 08!!

I couldn’t be more proud of Sarah Palin, she spoke to all women when she stated she will be an advocate for special needs children in the White House. The liberal media only have good things to say about a woman if she agrees with them. Who knew that secretly all these people who claim to be liberals were really sexist dopes who have only used women’s issues to mask their socialist agenda. Women are smarter than they think we are. We don’t have to agree with everything Sarah Palin believes in to see that she is a remarkable woman and has much potential to push forward issues that matter to all Americans – like energy, the economy and cleaning up Washington of all the special interests that do not put America First. Shame on my Democratic Party for letting me and many other women down! I am voting McCain/Palin in to the White House with all my sisters for change- positive change.

Schwarzenegger, Willis, Bo Derek and a quite few others were being held back until somebody called Kevin Farley spoke? Doesn’t sound quite right.

One of the interesting things about McCain’s people is that they are now claiming that the problems in government are coming from the Washington elite. But of course for the last seven years the Washington elite have all been Republicans. So the Republicans are effectively campaigning against their own people and policies while promising to do nothing different from the previous administration.

More borrow and spend but with a pretzel logic twist.

I’d rather have some smart, honest people who didn’t have a direct hand in making the mess we are now in take a shot this time.

Palin is just a distraction from important issues.

Nice to see a comparison between a community organizer and someone who has actually completed something. Nice to see a non ELITIST actually perform in competitive sports and can hold her own. Interesting to see a few people wining about capitol letters as if it makes a bit of difference or could it be a size issue?

Consider this;

There are no closeted conservatives we reserve the right to keep our opinions to ourselves without ramming it down the throat of someone else. There is no minority conservatives who hide…no my clueless liberal fool what you have failed to realize is that some of us respect others regardless of ideologies, some of us respect other countries and their right to operate prosperously, and yes some of us have actually attempted to learn why others do sometimes very bad things. Now when those in the screaming world of liberalism decide to jeopardize the national security of this nation keep in mind which group of people will go in and clean up the mess.

It is so nice to see that the liberals in France can not even control their own illegal populations and their own foreign born citizens. Every time the foreign born folk get upset in France they start a riot, burn property, and have a temper tantrum until the government caves in. In summary the liberals have the parties and the conservatives clean up the mess.
