The band was not commercially successful during most of it’s career. Only during the last few years did they receive recognition for their influence on the music of today. They were not ungrateful, they very much appreciated their loyal fan base and believed in what they did. Joey and Johnny couldn’t stand being in the same room, but they stayed together because they believed that strongly in the music. That persistence and belief influenced many bands who became popular and then cited the Ramones as an influence. They were out there touring constantly for over 20 years. Perhaps there is a reason that you haven’t been picked up by a label in 39 years.

They were unabashedly commercial, extremely popular and very ungrateful for their success if this is the way they behaved. Ive Been a rock and roll musician for 39 years, with no label support, even CBGB,where the Ramones began was mean to me since the first time I appeared there in 1977.Im no superstar but glad for any opportunity to entertain crowds. I am against drug lyrics in popular music, such as the Ramones “I Wanna Be Sedated”. I hope the new administration will put a stop to drug related content on the public airwaves. This all began with the Beatles, which is where the Ramones got their name from. Thank you very much for your time and consideration,
Very Truly Yours,
Bernard J. McDermott
