Obama settles for half a sub

July 28, 2010

Can half a super sub really be considered super? And when is half a loaf better than the whole?

These questions came to mind when President Barack Obama visited a New Jersey sandwich shop and showed restraint by ordering half a super sub — although he did ask for everything on it saying he had heard that “is the way to go.” OBAMA/

“When I was 20, I could order a 12-inch. I’m turning 49 next week, which means just a half,” Obama said.

(Sounds like someone’s feeling his age a bit, but he still has a year before the BIG ONE).

Reviews on the Internet say the Super Sub with everything and the tuna with provolone are the star items on the menu at Tastee Sub Shop.

We’re wondering whether POTUS would have been toast at home if he had ordered the full super sub, given his wife’s public campaign to fight against obesity…
