Bachmann mixes up Elvis tribute

August 17, 2011

Right day. Wrong message.

As fans of  Elvis Presley were observing the 34th anniversary of  his death Monday, Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann joined those paying tribute to the late king of rock and roll.

At the start of a stump speech in  Spartanburg, South Carolina, the Minnesota congresswoman’s tribute message was just a tad off.

With the sound of Presley’s   “Promised Land”  drifting from the loudspeaker,  Bachmann gave Elvis a shout-out with a “happy birthday” greeting.

Except Presley  died on August, 16  1977, at his home  in Memphis, Tennessee.

Bachmann later  cleared up her   mix-up, telling reporters that she was happy to be in South Carolina “on the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death.

“He’s still alive. He’s alive in our hearts,” Bachmann said.

Will The English Please Teach American Politicians And Media How To “Debate”.

“The straw poll, which has winnowed the field in past cycles, already raises questions of fairness because voters and candidates have to pay to play. The Iowa GOP should insist that all candidates who qualify based on the written criteria be included in the debate.”

Good Try Bachman. I Am So Proud Of You:
Running For President Of The United States Of America.
However, You Are Not Ready Yet. Form Your Alliances.
I Dismiss You From 2012.

OK….why isn’t this bigger news?!? She shouldn’t be running for PRESIDENT if she can’t keep her facts straight?!? If SHE messed up, then shame on her! If she was just reading off message, then even WORSE shame on her!! Either way, she should just crawl away, ashamed of herself!! I’m sick of ALL politicians!! They ALL need to be voted out and we need to make it a wee more like jury duty!! It is our DUTY to serve our country, NOT a career move!!!!!!!!!! Good grief!! SOMETHING has got to change!! For REAL this time!! I HOPE!!

Seriously. This woman can’t keep her facts straight on anything. And she wants to be president. Unbelievable.

Maybe this lady is exactly who we should get in the White House–at least then maybe she would let something ‘useful’ ‘slip’!!!
