Trump: ‘Look at my African-American over here’

June 4, 2016

Donald Trump had a message for his supporters at a campaign rally in Redding, California. His support from African-Americans, he said, is “tremendous.”

To prove his point, the Republican candidate told of one of his black supporters “slugging this guy wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit.” “When the African-American cold cocked this guy he never knew what happened, everybody thought the African-American was against me,” Trump said. “And it was the opposite.”

Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, took aim at Trump’s view on the environment, saying that the Republican ”does not have a clue.”

“I understand this incredible genius, after intensive study, has concluded that there is no drought in California. Now that is kind of funny because everybody in California believes there is a drought, but not the Donald,” Sanders said at a Fairfield rally ahead of the state’s June 7 primary.
