Rhode Island Democrat says Obama can “shove it” for non-endorsement

Some unwelcoming words from a Democrat in Rhode Island for President Barack Obama who is scheduled to visit the state later today.

Frank Caprio, the Democrat running for Rhode Island governor, is miffed at Obama and not afraid to let everyone know it.

USA/He says he learned from a reporter last night that Obama did not plan to endorse his candidacy against independent Lincoln Chafee, a former Republican senator who endorsed Obama over Republican John McCain in 2008.

Caprio unloaded on WPRO-AM and you can listen to the full interview on the radio station’s website.

“I’ve never asked President Obama for his endorsement. And what’s going on here is really Washington insider politics at its worse,” he says.

Is Sarah Palin trading Alaska for Rhode Island?

Talk about a political football.

The Anchorage Daily News in Alaska is reporting, and The Providence Journal is repeating, a tantalizing rumor that Sarah Palin is going to move to Rhode Island.

No one has confirmed that (including us, and we tried). Even the Anchorage paper which started the speculation says it’s probably not true.

But frankly, Sarah Palin — the former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor — is a queen of surprises so one never knows…
