An extremely important but often totally ignored aspect of water development. Even more important is understanding and planning for the technical limits of the water supply source, essential to water supply systems that rely on groundwater as the supply source, e.g., wells, springs, and with climate variability many surface water supply sources as well. As communities mature, the need to more sustainable (non-interupted) and higher quality water grows.
