EVERCORE PARTNERS INC
Boutique investment bank Evercore said Jed Sherwindt has joined the firm’s advisory business as a Senior Managing Director. Sherwindt joins from Citigroup where he led the bank’s software investment banking. At Citigroup, he advised on deals including PeopleSoft in its sale to Oracle, IBM in its acquisition of FileNet and Ask Jeeves in its sale to IAC.
The investment and advisory firm said Jay Light, the dean of Harvard Business School, has joined the company’s board. Light joined the Harvard Business School faculty in 1970 and taught MBA students Investment Management, Capital Markets, Entrepreneurial Finance, and Negotiating Ventures.
LONDON ASIA CHINESE PRIVATE EQUITY FUND LTD
The investment company appointed Richard Battey as a nonexecutive director, effective Sept. 17. Battey most recently worked as a consultant of a company involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas in Georgia and Kazakhstan.
KOHLBERG KRAVIS ROBERTS & CO
The asset management company said it appointed Makram Azar as managing director and head of Middle East and North Africa. Azar joins the company from Lehman Brothers where he had spent 18 years.
SOCIETE GENERALE CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING
The financial services group appointed Marie-Christine Ducholet and Pierre-Yves Bonnet as heads of strategic & acquisition finance within the capital raising and financing division. They succeed Jean-Marc Giraud who will head up the new global capital markets business line.
EAGLE BANCORP INC
The holding bank of EagleBank appointed Robert Pincus, Norman Pozez, Susan Lacz and Thomas Roberson to its board of directors. Pincus and Pozez will serve on the boards of Eagle Bancorp Inc and EagleBank — with Pincus acting as vice chairman of both boards. Lacz and Roberson will be directors of EagleBank.
HEARTWOOD WEALTH MANAGEMENT
The investment management company appointed Scott Ingham as an investment director, effective Oct. 20. Ingham would be based in London. He joins from Rothschild Private Banking and Trust.
GREAT EASTERN HOLDINGS LTD
The insurance company said its new group chief executive officer will be Ng Keng Hooi. Hooi will replace Tan Beng Lee, who will be retiring in December. Hooi, former regional managing director in Prudential Corp Asia, will join Great Eastern with effect from Dec. 1.
P-SOLVE ASSET SOLUTIONS
The asset management arm of the Punter Southall Group named Martin Johnson investment director in its risk management solutions business in London. Johnson joins from Mercer.
ENHANCED INVESTMENT PRODUCTS LTD
The Hong-Kong based asset management firm appointed David Lau as head of finance, administration and operations.
WITAN INVESTMENT TRUST
The investment trust confirmed the appointment of James Frost as marketing director of Witan and managing director of Witan Investment Services, effective from Oct. 1. Frost has been with Witan since 2005.
The law firm said it hired hedge fund and asset management attorney Julie Richard as a partner in its New York office. Richard joins Venable after serving as a managing director with Bear Stearns Cos, marking the second former Bear asset management attorney to join Venable in as many months.
BARING ASSET MANAGEMENT
The asset management company appointed InJun Jung as head of sales, client services and business development for Korea. Jung joins Baring from Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
CITADEL INVESTMENT GROUP LLC
The investment company said it appointed Tobias Gehrke and Anita Nassar as co-heads of international distribution and marketing and jointly would be responsible for the company’s development efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. Prior to this, both Gehrke and Nassar were with Merrill Lynch .
PROVIDENCE EQUITY PARTNERS
The private equity firm appointed Sean Tong as managing director. He would be based in Hong Kong. Tong is currently with General Atlantic in Hong Kong.
SECURITY PACIFIC BANK
The bank said it appointed Tony Feraro as president and chief executive officer. He will be based in Los Angeles. Feraro joins from Silvergate Bank where he was CEO.
