MERRILL LYNCH & CO

Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management (GWM) group appointed Alla Fedorova as a financial advisor. The company also hired Katalin Cseh, previously with UBS wealth management. Fedorova & Cseh will be based in London and will work as a part of emerging European markets team.

RBC CAPITAL MARKETS

The corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada appointed David Gair, previously with BP, as senior adviser to its oil and gas team in London.

CITIC SECURITIES

Liu Lefei, chief investment officer of China Life has been appointed chairman of the private equity arm of CITIC Securities (CITICS), China’s top brokerage, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter said.

HEARTWOOD WEALTH MANAGEMENT

The investment management company promoted Simon Lough as chief executive effective from Nov. 1. He will replace Davis Lough, who will takeover as chairman from March 1, 2009.

CAM PRIVATE EQUITY

The provider of private equity fund investment products and services in Europe named Andres Ebhardt, previously in private banking with JPMorgan, as partner, effective Oct.1.

HIGHLAND CAPITAL PARTNERS

The company hired Elazer Edelman as an adviser and promoted Bijan Salehizadeh to the post of general partner. Edelman will focus his investment efforts on the medical technology sector.
