So, how excited are you tonight? Are you really excited this evening? This is an exciting night isn’t it?

You get the picture…

When it comes to red carpet interviews snatched in 90 seconds amid a horde of yelling fans at a film awards ceremony, getting a memorable quote from one of the stars is virtually impossible.

This year’s BAFTAs were no exception as the limousines rolled up for the British Academy Film Awards, the flashbulbs popped and reporters scrambled for a soundbite.

“So Jeff Goldblum, how excited are you about tonight?”

“The most excited that I can be. Maybe the most excited I’ve ever been. How excited are you?”

For “Atonement” star Keira Knightley it was “very exciting. It’s wonderful.”

Daniel Day-Lewis admitted to being bemused by all the razzamatazz and hype: “It’s been genetically modified this whole event somehow since I was last here. It’s been pumped full of something, I don’t know if it’s legal or not.”

But there was no doubting Anthony Hopkins’ excitement: “It’s really good isn’t it. haven’t been to the BAFTA awards for some years. This is my wife Stella. It’s her first time at the
awards.”

Amid all the excitement, Least Known Fact Of The Night award undoubtedly went to Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jnr when unexpectedly asked about his break-dancing prowess.

“I was one of Lionel Richie’s break dancers in the closing ceremonies of the Olympics and that whole experience really showed me not only my personal potential but how rewarding entertainment can be.”
