McCartney divorce: Fair payout?

heather.jpgPaul McCartney has been ordered to pay his estranged wife Heather Mills 24.3 million pounds after their public and highly acrimonious divorce settlement.

She said: “we are very, very pleased.” The ex-Beatle declined to comment.

High Court judge Mr Justice Bennett made his ruling at the end of the couple’s four-year marriage, a union that produced a daughter, Beatrice. It is one of the biggest divorce settlements in Britain, but not THE biggest.

Do you think it is fair?

It’s a disgrace. She doesn’t deserve anything. She doesn’t need the money to look after/protect their child, he could pay for that without it touching her account. 5million + a house I could understand…but even then…

Quite frankly - who cares? A real bit of non news.

£24 million for 4 years of marriage easy money if you can get it

Of course she deserves something Alex. That’s the law. Plus it was his fault for not getting a pre-nup. It’s not like you get a life of yr own when yr married to Paul, it all revolves around him, so she couldn’t start providing for herself. She needs money to look after the child when the kid is w/her and not him. And it’s not like she can get a job, because people like you hate her so much. He’s stuck w/her now because of that kid, whether they’re a couple or not. As for too much/too little…it seems fine to me, but it prob won’t to her, even if it was all his money! I predict an appeal.

She’s a greedy maniupaltive person - she was asking for £125 million - and for two years when they were dating to be taken into consideration, rather than the four years of marriage - making a total of six years. GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY. She says she wants to use the money to help charities - well let’s see how much she pledges then shall we?

Considering the amount i would consider sir paul to be the happier of the two. Heather Mills claims to be very happy with the outcome but with the payout being roughly £100 million less than what she was looking for i can imagine she is seething inside!! Lets hope now this whole sorry affair is over that Heather Mills slopes off into the distance.

The problem is the she appears to be so shallow in her pathetic attempts to manipulate the media, so naturally one must assume every other aspect of her case is equally shallow.

Divorce is difficult but the law in the UK still does not balance in favor of the husband / father and unfortunately 24mil for 4 years marriage yet again is a bit of a slap in Paul’s face.

The courts had a perfect opportunity to issue a rulig that was fair, sadly they failed - again

Much better to pay by the hour or night. That way, you can swap them around a bit to keep things interesting and you don’t have to listen to never-ending whingeing!

All im going to say is ‘What a spank’ this could quite well be the most ridiculous spank since the millenium dome. My reasons for this are simply because Miss Mills went into the marriage with a set agenda to take Paul for his money, She complains of being reffered to as a gold digger, Ok heather look at what you have just done you married a man 25 years your senior got four years in split with him on a ridiculous reason and now have taken a 68 year old for $50 million when you deserve nothing, Mills you are a moany wingy trout and that is just that…

I hope Heather will put this money to good use supporting some radical causes and I think she will. Good going girl!

If Heather Mills is so adamant that court documents remain closed so as not to hurt Beatrice, then why does she gleefully encourage others, like her sister today, to disparage Paul in public? She could have stopped her sister, but chose not to while smiling all the time. She cannot have it both ways. Of great concern to many is Heather’s mental state and how her allegedly apparent unstable emotions are affecting Beatrice. If she cannot control her rantings and overt manipulations, either in public or privately, should anger management classes be in order? Has a family court ever ordered a mental examination to determine if she’s a stable/fit parent? Paul has shown dignity and class throughout these past several hard years and earned the respect of many. Perhaps now with Paul’s money, Heather can try to purchase them since she certainly hasn’t earned them. What a shame for poor darling Beatrice.

I always assumed the spouse is justly rewarded for the direct or indirect financial contribution they make to the marriage. Now let me see, was Heather even a twinkle in her mummy’s eye when Sir Paul co-wrote the Beatles catalogue? Was she even in nappies when Wings were conquerng the charts? What contribution has Heather exactly made to the wealth of Sir Paul. Minus £25 million, thats what.

How can this be a fair pay out. Ms Mills was awarded far too much money/assets. How on earth could she equate herself to her ex-husbands £400m fortune. Paul McCartney has done more for this country and more for people around the world than this women says she has accomplished in her often quoted by herself, 20 years of charity work. I just feel sorry for their child who will no doubt be poisoned in mind about how unfair the divorce settlement was. Well-done Paul McCartney for be so right, it’s just a pity you are down £14m to Heather Mills.

Paul McCartney has maintained a dignified silence over this whole sorry affair whilst Heather Mills’ megalomania holds no bounds.

Heather Mills as done herself no favours over this divorce case. She seems to be hated by the vast majority of the British Public, and quite rightly so. She contrinbuted nothing to Sir Paul’s fortune, and only a share of any interest earned during their 4 year marriage should be up for grabs. This I believe was estimated at 39 million, thus split 50/50 would have been reasonable. Therefore her 24 million pay out was way over the top. Lets hope this horrible woman disappears from our lives for ever.
